A classic half field set that can be run from youth through the pros. This look provides simple rules for the players to follow on and off the ball. It is often referred to as a “two triangles” offense as the midfielders and attack form respective 3 man triangles.

This play is a twist on a simple 3 man wheel by having one part of the wheel circle around the goal through X. This play provides many different looks and nicely resets the formation to run the play again. You can also flip the wheel and run it on the other side if you want to get it to the lefties.

The objective of this ride is to cover the areas of the field where teams like to throw easy passes by pushing players forward and allowing the clearing team to have the extra man advantage near our goal instead of near their goal as we traditionally do when we are riding.

The best part about this play is how quickly you can run it over and over in a possession by simply throwing the ball across the top of the field and immediately initiating again. After running this play a few times in a row on a single possession the defenders’ heads will be spinning!

The objective of this zone is to shift our attack and middie lines across the field laterally to allow over passes from one defender to another, forcing harder passes and removing the easy opportunity for the clearing team to manipulate an attackman who is near the midfield line.

This man up play follows the basic concept of overloading a side of the zone and forcing a defender in a zone to cover multiple players and/or communicate with his teammates at a high level.
