Objective: Improve defenders’ hip-switching, shuffle mechanics, drop-step recovery, and reaction to verbal/visual cues.
Arrange cones in a “T” shape: one center cone, one high-right, one high-left (or two high cones), and optionally two low-right / low-left cones for drop-step practice.
Player starts at the center cone. Coach or partner stands in front to give visual/voice cues.
Coach calls or points a direction (e.g., “high right” or points right). Player shuffles to that cone with proper defensive stance.
