4 rotation

This rotation is an effective zone breaker that also works well in player-up situations. As one player cuts through the zone, she pulls a defender with her and creates an open lane for the player rotating behind.

This is an effective zone offense that can also be used in a player-up situation.

The rotation forces the defense to make difficult decisions. As one offensive player cuts through the zone, a defender must either follow the cutter or pass her off to another defender. That movement briefly pulls the zone out of shape and creates an open lane for the next player rotating into the space.

The first cutter may not receive the ball, but her movement is what creates the opportunity. She occupies a defender, clears space, and forces the defense to communicate. The player following the cutter must recognize the opening, time her movement, and attack the lane before the zone can recover.

When executed correctly, the offense creates a continuous series of two-player actions: one player cuts through the zone, and the next player fills the space she leaves behind. If defenders begin collapsing on the inside rotation, the ball can be moved quickly to the perimeter for an open shot. If they remain extended, the cutters can attack the seams.
