Man-Up, Man-Down Practice

In this practice I wanted to focus on Man up and Man down.

Warm-Up (First 20 minutes):
We start with dynamic stretching, (The Importance of Stretching in Men's Lacrosse) followed by light stick work routines that players are familiar with to quickly get into the flow.
Man Up Man Down Skill Builder
this is a great stick work drill that emphasizes man up man down skills.

Skill Drills (20 minutes):
Focused on drills targeting unbalanced situations where one team has the numbers advantage over the other. This will segway into man up / man down other related fundamental techniques.
Inside out 5v4

High-Intensity Drills (20 minutes):
high-energy activities that again focuses on an unbalanced situation and keep players moving. The goal is to challenge the players physically and to ensure that they are tired.
Up 1 add 1 transition

Rides and Clears (20 minutes):
Hopefully the players are tired now and can pay attention. As Rides and clears are always a challenge as your players are spread out all over the field. However this is a crucial part of the game that must be mastered.

High-Intensity Drills (20 minutes):
This is such a great drill for this practice as it incorporates clearing, fast breaks and man up/man down. It was so great that even it turned into a game strategy for a team

The final part focuses on game strategy with 6v5 play.
