Set up the drillMark a 10–15 yard straight line with a cone at each end. This simulates a dodging attacker’s path.
Starting positionThe defender starts at one end in an athletic stance: feet shoulder-width apart, knees bent, straight back, and stick extended forward.
Lateral movementOn command, the defender moves laterally (no crossing feet) to the other cone, keeping shoulders square to the sideline and hips facing the endline.
Stick controlThe stick stays extended toward the potential attacker's path, top hand on the throat, bottom hand at mid-shaft, simulating pressure.
