Defensive Transition – “Retreat Drill”

In boys’ lacrosse, fast breaks can quickly shift momentum or decide a game. That’s why training recovery defense is critical. This drill simulates a situation where the defender starts at a disadvantage and must react quickly and smartly to stop the attacker before he reaches the goal. With each rep, players improve speed, effort, game awareness, and defensive positioning in transition.
