Stack the Crease, Punish the Predictable Slide

When you stack your crease players vertically, the defense has nowhere to hide. The top dodge forces the first slide, the inside pop triggers rotation, and one more pass finds the backside wing for a clean step-down. Simple structure. High-percentage offense.

Start in a 1-4-1 set, but instead of keeping the two crease players side by side, stack them vertically. That small adjustment changes everything — it stretches the help, cleans up spacing, and makes the slide picture obvious.

Initiate the dodge from the top down the alley. As the defender is beaten, the first slide has to come. With the crease stacked, there’s no gray area about who that slide is — it declares itself.

When the slide commits, move it immediately to the crease player who followed his defender and popped into space. As the defense scrambles into its second rotation, move it one more time to the wing — right where the second slide came from — for a step-down shot.

The progression is clean:• Clear dodge lane• Defined first slide• Quick inside touch• One more to the backside• Time-and-room finish
