Why I’m Starting a Mastermind to Help Lacrosse Coaches Build Sustainable Income

I don’t know how many of you know my background, but most of the financial stability I have today came from one thing: I built an online education company, and eventually I sold it. That’s where my money was made. And yes—I consider myself fairly successful because of that journey.

But let me be very clear:

It wasn’t always that way. Not even close.

There were years when I was coaching lacrosse and making almost nothing. Years when I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay my bills, keep up with life, or dig myself out of the financial hole I had created. You’d think that kind of pressure would push me toward business, toward income, toward stability.

But it didn’t.

My passion for coaching hijacked every corner of my brain.
I couldn’t stop thinking about:

  • lineups

  • drills

  • the kids’ development

  • who we were playing

  • film

  • uniforms

  • practice plans

  • all the small details that only a coach truly understands

It consumed me.
And honestly—it almost broke me.

Passion is powerful, but passion without a financial foundation is brutal.
It wears you down mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Eventually, I caught a break. Things turned around. The business worked. The sale gave me breathing room and stability. But I say the word luckily because that’s exactly what it was—and not everyone gets that lucky turn.

And that’s what’s been bothering me for a while now.

Too many coaches are in the same struggle I was in… but without the same safety net.

I’ve met countless coaches who are unbelievably dedicated, talented, and passionate—but they’re stuck. They’re stressed. They’re financially stretched thin. Some are even considering stepping away from coaching simply because they can’t afford to keep doing it.

And here’s the truth:

Coaching should not put you in a financial hole.
And the quality of your life should not collapse because you care about developing players.

So I’ve been thinking seriously about this.

What if there was a place where coaches could talk business openly?

Not the boring theory.
Not corporate jargon.
Not some expensive coaching program.

But real conversations from people who are actually making money online—coaches who understand the sport, the schedule, the demands, and the lifestyle.

So here’s my idea:

I want to start a mastermind.

A simple, flexible group where we can discuss:

  • how coaches can build online income

  • ideas that fit into a coaching schedule

  • what’s been working for others in our community

  • ways to relieve financial stress

  • how to create stability without leaving coaching

The goal isn’t to replace coaching.
The goal is to make coaching survivable… and eventually sustainable.

I’ve met some great guys through LaxPlaybook who also make their money online, and they’ve agreed to be part of it. These are people who have built real businesses, not by chance, but with repeatable strategies that other coaches could use.

Because here’s what I believe:

The lacrosse community thrives when coaches thrive.

We spend so much time pouring into our players—supporting them, teaching them, guiding them—and yet coaches rarely have a support system for themselves.

This mastermind is my way of trying to change that.

If you’re interested in joining the discussion, learning from others, or simply exploring ways to improve your financial quality of life while continuing to coach… let me know.

I want to see coaches win.
Not just the teams, not just the players—the coaches themselves.

Because when coaches thrive, everyone around them benefits.
