Cut Fill Look Backside
This Men’s Lacrosse Man Up play effectively forces the defense to rotate and adjust, creating gaps and confusion in their formation. By drawing attention to the cutter and crease movements, it opens up high-percentage scoring opportunities for the opposite wing.
Designated Crease and Two-Man Game Offense: A Versatile Approach
This versatile lacrosse offense combines a crease player, an X "quarterback," and two-man games on the wings to create multiple scoring threats, making it hard for defenses to cover all areas. By balancing individual skill and coordinated movement, it keeps defenders engaged and adaptable to exploit any defensive weaknesses.
Top corner pick shift to the weak side
The core strategy of this play is to shift the defense to one side, allowing the offense to exploit the weak side by quickly moving the ball and using screens to create space for a scoring opportunity. By setting picks and reversing the field, the offense aims to free up a player to catch the ball and take a shot with minimal defensive pressure.
2-3-1 Triangle motion
The motion offense thrives with two interlocking triangles, separating midfielders from attackers to confuse defensive slides and create multiple scoring opportunities. By mastering the basics and adding creativity, your team can transform simple plays into dynamic, fluid movements, giving the illusion of an endless playbook while adhering to core principles of spacing and movement.
Clear and fill offensive philisophy
This is an offensive scheme that can be the foundation of an offense at every level. With all the plays and schemes I have seen I have come back to doing this so many times. I figured if my guys could completely master this concept, combined with 2-3 killer plays, I am good to go. This can also be used as a man up scheme too. This premise can also be applied to other sets as shown in a 1-4-1.
Kick Back Behind GLE to a off ball Pick on the Crease
These very simple 2 or 3 man plays are easy to teach, they do not need the full coordination of the entire team and they work. This can work as an inbound play, a subtle call between the dodger and the men in the crease or if done enough can be a natural part of the offense. This is a great play for beginners as it is a very simple 3 man play.
2-3-1 Dodge Fill and Pick
If you teach the triangle motion offense out of a 2-3-1 set, (2middies up top) this could be a nice extra wrinkle that incorporates a pick.
Off Ball Pick the Picker - end line inbound play
An end line play that has been around for ages that can be run at all levels of lacrosse. This video will show it being run at differently levels succesfully.
Dodge draw the slide move the ball one more
Dodge, draw the slide, move the ball, one more… simple as that.
2 3 1 set Drive from X Fill from the crease Clear out the wing
This is a basic way to teach the offense how to clear space for the dodger while keeping the field balanced. This is a great way to teach young players who are starting out.
Top Right Slip Pick
This is a very simple technique that could be taught to your players. Especially if they come from a Basketball or Box Lacrosse Background. You could have call for this but the end goal would be for them to recognize when to do this on their own during live play.
2 3 1 Motion Offense Fade
This look provides simple rules for the players to follow on and off the ball. It is often referred to as a “two triangles” offense as the midfielders and attack form respective 3 man triangles.
2 3 1 Motion Offense Pop
A classic half field set that can be run from youth through the pros. This look provides simple rules for the players to follow on and off the ball. It is often referred to as a “two triangles” offense as the midfielders and attack form respective 3 man triangles.
2-3-1 Pass Down Pick Down with Backside Cycle
The best part about this play is how quickly you can run it over and over in a possession by simply throwing the ball across the top of the field and immediately initiating again. After running this play a few times in a row on a single possession the defenders’ heads will be spinning!
Man Up 2-3-1 crease overload with a wing clear and fill
This man up play follows the basic concept of overloading a side of the zone and forcing a defender in a zone to cover multiple players and/or communicate with his teammates at a high level.
Double Back Side Overload
This is a great man up play out of a 2-3-1 set as it has many looks in the course of the rotation, overloads to one side and ends in the same set it began in making it easy to continue with your offense.
