Double pole the inbound

This is a daring defensive move that can catch teams off guard.  You may also want to practice it because with under two minutes left if you need the ball this is a tactic you will need to try.

You are leaving the goal open therefore you want a fairly athletic goalie when running this.

The attack men will typically beat this one of two ways.
- They will full on sprint to the open space.
- They will make a more to one side then jab step quickly cutting through the middle of the two defenders. If they accomplish this they will have a straight path to the goal.

You will need to spend time to teach your poles how to properly execute a double team -- the main rule in doubling is to not allow the ball-carrier to run between and split the double team because of the path to the goal.

The defense needs to know when to let go of the double and fall back into their standard defense.

A good offensive team will utilize the man being covered by the goalie forcing the goalie to be a part of the play. The goalie is not typically used to playing defense and does not have the ideal stick for this.
They can bring the man being covered by the goalie to set a pick.
They can have that man spring to the ball to be an outlet.
