Alley Pick Clear

I see a few benefits from doing this.

1) It can open up a middle up top

2) it creates a distraction for the riding team, clearing space for the middle to go one on one

3) the possibilities are many after the first pass is made

Note: I would look to adjust to make the first pass to the player in the center, then they can make the pass to the Middle come off of the screen.

M1 starts with the ball.  He is an option to run up the field himself but we are really looking to create a fast break out of this.  The activity happening off ball should help to clear space for him to run if he chooses.

  • When the whistle blows M2 back picks for M3.  M3 will catch the ball then look up field for M2 who just set the pick.

  • D3 dummy cuts, calling for the ball in order to clear out space.  The goal for him is to draw the attention of the ride to the center since in this clear we are looking to clear down the alleys

  • If needed, M1 can redirect to the goalie, who then looks to pass to A1 breaking to him or a more talented goalie can hit D1 breaking down the alley

  • A1 will draw a lot of attention, thus he can turn and throw to D1 breaking down the alley who should be in open space to a fast break leading to a fast break.

  • Throwing to A1 is also a better option then throwing to D1 because theoretically A1 is the more competent ball-handler who can run up the field if in trouble.
